Jürgen Klauke
Born in Kliding, Germany, 1943
Lives and works in Cologne, Germany
Jürgen Klauke fulfills a pioneer role as he recognized photography as an art form and approached the body as a form of expression before anyone had even mentioned body art. For more than three decades, he has built a comprehensive and ongoing oeuvre and shows existential issues from a personal vision: the relationship between objects and spaces, the ambiguity, the theatricality, the absurd, the sexual identity, imagination.
